Can I just say I hate it when I type a bunch of stuff and then something happens and it is ALL lost!! argh :(
Now I have to rewrite it all.

Kentucky is like a postcard
.  So beautiful and picturesque.  The rolling hills of green grass with the fences and horses running free.  I think my dad would love it here.

We knew it would be a LONG day of driving. But Bryan didn't want to be going through Tennessee and not stop in Nashville, so we stopped by the Grand Ole Opry House.  We debated whether we should go on a tour (both money and time) But in the end, Bryan said, "we are already here, let's just do it!"  We did and we all loved it!  I would definitely recommend the backstage tour to anyone in Nashville. Oh, and you can get a discount on your tickets by mentioning you have AAA.  They taught us some of the history of the Opry and our 45 minute tour included going in the singers entrance and seeing their dressing rooms, green room for their family and friends, sound stage and TV studio, and finally walking onto the actual stage and standing in the 6 foot circle of original wood from the original opry where everyone who has ever sang on that stage has stood.  From Elvis Presley and Hank Williams to Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood.  Carrie is performing there on Saturday and Abby was bummed we couldn't stay.  A performance there would be amazing. They do them all live and have never missed a show.  Bryan pulled out his phone and played the song "Real Man" on the stage so he could tell Alyson her song had been sung in the Grand Ole Opry.

Another thing we tried to do but it was already booked for the day was a place called the Escape Room.  We would definitely try and book this if we are ever here again.  It is a place where you get locked in a room and you have an hour to try and work together to solve the clues and get yourself free. It is a #1 activity from tripadvisor, but you must book in advance because they sell out early.

We tried to go eat at a place called the Loveless Cafe (we went there when we came to Tennessee with our friends a few years ago) but we should have called first, because after driving there....we found out it had a one hour wait, and we had to leave. We grabbed the kids a quick bite at Arby's and told them we would feed them in Memphis (3 hours later).  We found the #1 place to eat in Memphis....Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken and went there. We skipped Graceland due to time.  We still had hours and hours of driving to go and it was already 8 pm.

Bryan is such a trooper and "he drove all night" (nod to celine dion) to get us to Oklahoma City for his next meeting at 8 am.  That means he drove until 3 am.  My eyes feel like sandpaper!  We checked into the Hamptons and got our room key and headed up to our room only to find that it was USED!  what the what?  It is 3 freaking am in the morning and I have to run back downstairs and get a new room when all anyone wants to do is fall asleep! Then we get into our new room and the air conditioner is SO DANG LOUD.  If it wasn't 3 am I would have gone back down for another room, but instead I just told Bryan to imagine it was soothing white noise and call it a night!

I can't believe it is our 2nd to last day.  This trip has been fabulous and it is almost over.  I think we are all excited to get home.  One more day to make it through.....and I have a feeling it will be brutal.  Another 14 hours of driving.  The troops are getting restless bless their hearts.
